Introduction

Ironically, the introduction to this blog mark an end to what would be THE best year of my campus life.

Just a year ago, Shu Yi and Liang from Monash Christian Fellowship (MCF) approached me to become their next Clubs and Societies (C&S) Representative; a committee member “spot” responsible for matters which would involve any liaising with Monash University Student Council.

i remember having a mutual agreement with Liang during the Ministry through Adventure Programmes (MAPS) training camp that the chances of me taking up any responsibility in MCF would depend on the success or failure of my election campagn running for Business Representative in the Student council.

The results of the student council election was depressing, it became a laughing matter -literally- and it was pretty hard to swallow.

Not long after i accepted C&S representative position in CF , i had a chance to be voted into the Clubs and Societies Division ( a sub division of the Student Council overseeing any matters relating to clubs and societies). i became their Secretary, here i was; Cf committee and C&S Division committee in the same year. pretty awesome if you ask me.

come 2008, i was LEO Club Monash’s Funding Director then Vice Secretary, MCF’s C&S Representative and C&S Division Secretary.

Honestly, my experience in Leo Club this year was Messed up. Screwed up as Funding Director, unsupportive as a committee member, inexperienced as a vice secretary, univolve as a member. i think its seasonal factors, i’ve been in the committee for too long; i’ve seen people come and go; i’ve work with all of em’ and have my judgements and preferences. Hopefully 2009 will be better, it will be my final semester and final term serving as a committee member in Leo.

Serving in MCF has been great, i enjoyed being a KG leader and quiet time leader in our camp the most. Being the C&S representative and being in the C&S division at the same time really eased the procedures and process of getting the CF’s activities or plans done. Besides getting a say in major decisions, i got to bond with some of the committee members better. but letting go of my position in CF is hardly saying goodbye to CF, i’ll still be around supporting the committee and help out whenever i can.

However, leaving the C&S division and seeing new faces taking over next semester won’t be a great sight. There has definitely been an emotional attachment between me and some of the committee members.

2008 for my walk in faith and church life is a whole different story, it is far from over. i shall be writing on on my journey with God; how far i’ve come to reach this point in my life in the next post.
