Sometimes, the best Offence is Defence and the best Defence is Offence.
During my SMCF reunion, a friend (old acquaintance, to be specific) questioned me whether the teaching of City Harvest was actually biblical. I answered yes to His retarded question and ended the conversation. He eventually apologized for His action/approach via facebook. I told him i was more than willing to hear his reasoning and understanding of my church.
to my surprise, he responded by asking “do yo know the gospel? Do you know that a lot of non-christians go there (CHC KL) thinking they are christians because they don’t preach the gospel?”
Here’s where the Real me make an appearance to this conversation.

To to my fellow City Harvest members or anyone out there being persecuted;
Let this be an encouragement to you.
God knows i didn’t have any when i needed it the most.
remember: if you do not have enemies, you do not have a stand.

City Harvest Church is known for the Word of God they preach. Saying that this church is not preaching the gospel is totally far from the truth. If that person has been attending our church constantly he or she would have known.
Yes we do not preach the gospel 24-7 (telling people how Jesus died for our sins over and over again)…but definitely in City Harvest Church everything preached is based on the Bible. The difference is, in City Harvest Church, we are not only to learn that Jesus died for us, but we are taught the ways to live our life according to the bible.
That is why, the word of God is easily absorbed because it is made to cater to our daily living. On how we should live our life based on the Word of God. Apart from only knowing the sacrifice of a Savior, we also learn to work on our salvation after we are saved. So the Christian walk is never dry. We constantly know and are challenged to do more than just getting saved and staying in our comfort zone and waiting for Jesus’ second coming.
So rather than learning the Word that is “sweet to our ears” City Harvest made a point to preach messages that might not be comfortable but challenging for us to move from one level to another. I personally learn more about the BIBLE instead of just the gospel through the messages preach in City Harvest. And making it relevant to our lives, the Word is definitely alive.
You are right…we are the walking Word of God. Not only the Gospel but the BIBLE.
p/s: Gospels are only Matthew, Mark, Luke and John
